Our own animals usually come by to say hello to our guests. Sometimes they seem to be in a big

hurry and just rush past, other times they have plenty to say and take the time for a serious and long conversation.

We often hear that they contribute to the holiday fun, and frankly, we are quite proud of that (we sometimes call them our little entertainment team). And of course, they sometimes return home empty-handed, and that is perfectly fine. They certainly do not lack attention.

The health and well-being of our animals are very important to us. That is why they all receive a balanced diet that meets their specific needs. If you would like to spoil our animals with a small treat, please contact us so that they can enjoy their feast without a care.

So, who are we actually talking about? Below is a brief introduction to our livestock. Enchanté!

Name: KEREL (Friend)

Gender: MALE

Born: June 1, 2013

European Shorthair & Burmese Cross

We adopted Kereltje in the Netherlands when he was 6 years old, and he later moved with us to France.

He is an endearing tomcat and a huge cuddle bug.

He usually enjoys coming over to say hello to our guests. And if he likes them, he sometimes hangs around a bit longer.

He is getting on in years, so he prefers to lie down as comfortably as possible.

For those who find it a bit too much, he understands the word 'No' (and then slinks off grumbling a bit that it isn't fair).

Name: MURPHY (Mufke)

Gender: MALE

Born: June 22, 2018

European Shorthair & Australian Mist cross

We adopted Murphy in France in September 2021. He had just undergone major surgery (he is missing one front leg) and was looking for a new home.

And we are so happy with him. He is delightfully stubborn (we think due to his French roots), incredibly affectionate and a cheerful chatterbox.

But he is also a real glutton. He must not gain too much weight because of his disability, so we do have to keep an eye on him.

Furthermore, Murphy can and does everything a 'normal' cat does. He is fast, agile, incredibly nimble, and above all, incredibly tough.

Name: NINA (Aunt Miesje)

Gender: FEMALE

Born: May 19, 2013

Nebelung cross (long-haired Russian Blue)

We found Nina as a tiny kitten, not even 6 weeks old, on an industrial area in Vouziers. Since then, she has grown into a beautiful lady.

She loves to trot and race across the garden, looking for mice or other entertainment. Often with her beautiful long coat completely disheveled. And then she shakes herself once, and everything is back in perfect shape.

She is incredibly sweet and comes to check in with us several times a day, only to go back to whatever it is she was doing. She is a bit reserved towards strangers, but with some patience, she might be persuaded to let you give her a gentil stroke.

Name: NOUSKA (Noes)

Gender: FEMALE

Born: June 25, 2024

Terrarian & Poodle mix (Cairnoodle ?)

When we adopted Nouska in April 2025, she was an insecure and not house-trained 10-month-old puppy.

She is our first dog, and the first year was a very educational one for all of us. And just as the foster family promised, she is a golden dog! She is very smart, enterprising, and curious. And she tries her very best to guard 'her domain' for us. So sometimes she barks briefly at the beginning if she doesn't know people yet.

She loves coming along with us to the local flea markets. Afterwards, we always take her for long walks, sniffing around, and romping in the woods. Nouska also loves canoeing and she runs well alongside the bike.

Names: JULES, LOLA, LIZZY, LARA, LOTJE

Gender: 1 DRAGONFLY AND 4 DUCKS

Born: Jules spring '24, Lara & Lotte Apr 17, '23, Lola & (her daughter Lizzy) age unknown

Indian Runner Ducks

Our little group of ducks (the Bathrobe family) often waddles through our garden, chattering happily. Sometimes they go for a nice swim in their pool or lie dozing a bit in the grass.

Indian Runner Ducks cannot fly; if they try very hard, they flutter a maximum of 50 cm high. Because they eat snails, worms, and (mosquito) larvae, you also often see them in organic gardens. They usually stay close together, and if one decides to go for a walk, the rest amble along leisurely behind.

Our 4 ladies lay delicious eggs every day, which we can also regularly use to make our guests happy.
